My 8-year-old is a big fan of National Geographic Kids Ultimate Dinopedia (2017). So much so that we’ve had to tape it back together in some places. So, you can imagine her excitement over Dinosaur Atlas.
At 11 by 14 inches, this Atlas is bigger than your standard book. This oversized hardcover atlas features gorgeous two-page spreads with meticulous illustrations and accessible text. Each spread — ranging from cretaceous habitats to spotlights on different areas throughout the world — can be read separately or in order.
The atlas features profiles of more than 75 prehistoric creatures, kid-friendly maps, vibrant illustrations, and sections introducing the dinosaur family tree, a timeline, prehistoric geography, and a dinosaur dictionary.
Though the publisher’s suggested age range for National Geographic Kids Dinosaur Atlas is 7 to 10, I think kids as young as 6 would enjoy it.
