Baby Puppy and Baby Octopus are the newest additions to Chronicle Books’ popular Finger Puppet Book series for the littlest of readers.
Each book in the series follows the same sort of formula. The featured animal wakes up, eats, takes a walk or explores, plays, and goes to bed. For example, Baby Puppy plays, barks, and cuddles up with his family when it’s time for bed and Baby Octopus swims, explores, and drifts off to bedtime in her cozy den.
Each page features bright colors and simple text, but it’s the charming finger puppet that truly steals the show. These plush puppets create motion and emotion as the “reader” moves them from scene to scene. They’re especially fun for older siblings who get a kick out of reading to new family members.
At $7.99 they’re a good price, and the chunky nature of the books help them hold up to lots of use.
