We’ve been big fans of Barney Saltzberg since Beautiful Oops! made its way into my daughter’s hands. It’s smart and funny and gives kids permission to see their mistakes in positive ways. Arlo Needs Glasses provides the same sort of confidence for those who need glasses.
The book, which was originally published as an interactive novelty book, stands the test of time. Once kids can get past the stereotypes of wearing glasses, they can flourish. I will never forget my daughter’s reaction after putting on her first pair, “I can see!” she exclaimed. It was lifechanging.
Inviting illustrations and simple text make Arlo Needs Glasses a good choice for younger kids, ages 3 to 7.
